Privacy & Data Collection

Data We Collect:

• Extension version
• Session ID (random UUID)
• Event timestamp
• Current page URL (active tab when event is sent)
• Page type classification (e.g., payment_intent_detail, stripe_dashboard)
• Which extension features are used
• User interface interactions (e.g., button clicks)
• Extension settings changes
• Time on page (duration)
• Decline detection events on Stripe pages
• Feedback votes about explanation helpfulness
• Outcome metadata when available (type, reason, advice/network codes, risk fields)

Data We DO NOT Collect:

• Personal identifying information
• Email addresses or names
• Payment information or card details
• Specific transaction amounts
• Website page content or screenshots
• Passwords or sensitive data
• Browser history outside the extension

Analytics

We use PostHog to analyze usage patterns. All analytics are anonymized. You will be asked for your consent before analytics tracking begins, and you may opt out at any time via the Extension’s settings.

• Right to disable analytics at any time

Data Retention

• Analytics: retained for a maximum of 24 months
• Sessions: session data expires after 30 minutes of inactivity
• Consent: consent expires after 1 year and must be renewed
